NLMK Indiana's Social Responsibility Committee chose the Hoosier Burn Camp as one of the charitable organizations to support this year. The Hoosier Burn Camp is dedicated to assisting children who have suffered physical and emotional trauma due to a severe burn injury. NLMK Indiana embarked on a campaign to raise funds to help send children to camp.
This July, NLMK Pennsylvania became an active participant at the Relay for Life event for the first time in company history. Relay for Life is the signature fundraiser cancer walk for the American Cancer Society. Relay for Life is staffed and coordinated by volunteers in more than 5,200 communities and 20 countries with the purpose of taking action against cancer.
Four speakers from NLMK USA shared their expertise with the international steel community at AISTech 2018. AIST is the Association for Iron & Steel Technology with 17,500 members from more than 70 countries. AISTech is one of AIST’s major annual forums and recognized as Steel’s Premier Technology event. The conference and exposition covers all aspects of the steelmaking process, attracting thousands of visitors each year.
NLMK Group’s American Division, has refinanced a $250 m credit line that it acquired in 2011. The new revolving credit line has a maturity of 4 years and will be used to finance working capital and general corporate activities.
NLMK Group’s US-based Division has re-started its #2 hot-dip galvanizing line in February 2017. The line, which is located at Sharon Coating in Pennsylvania, has a capacity of approximately 226,000 metric tonnes per year. With the re-launch of the second line, Sharon Coating’s effective capacity increased by 43% driven by growing demand in the USA.
NLMK Group, an international steel producer with operations in Russia, Europe and the USA, has signed an agreement for the purchase of the core process equipment for the construction of a new walking-beam reheating furnace to streamline the slab heating process at NLMK Pennsylvania (Farrell, PA, USA). The new furnace will replace 3 outdated pusher-type furnaces currently operational at the facility.
