NLMK Pennsylvania replaced the aging acid tanks in the Pickle Line.

Diamond-enhanced wire ropes cut 15-foot sections through steel, brick, and rubber to remove the old tanks, totaling 26 sections. Each section was loaded onto a flatbed trailer and properly disposed of.

Our teams repaired the foundation and installed new water and acid headers, tank feeds, recycled acid tank feeds, a new electrostatic oiler, and steam and air feeds. New walkway supports were also installed.

Four prefabbed half tanks were delivered prior and then welded together on site. The tanks received new and refurbished fiberglass piping, new utilities, and new handrails on the inside of both north and south walkways.
